Peace Corps Volunteer in Bulgaria

I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in Europe in the Country of Bulgaria. I am new to this site but have been teaching in Bulgaria for three years. I have put a couple of coloring books together for my students and want to begin to animate some of the pics. I am currently putting together a coloring book for children with special needs to teach them different animals and the letters of the alphabet. I am hoping to animate the letters and the animals. I was interested in any suggestions on how to begin the process. Does one need to go out and buy expensive computer programs or is there free quality software out there. I would like to piggy back on this project and great something for HIV awareness.

Since my service is ending in a few months I am looking to return to my home state of PA where I hope to be a Guidance Counsoler and maybe start a side business greating materials for teachers like I am doing here in Bulgaria. Does any one know how I would begin to get start in this? Are there company already outthere looking for teachers who are using animation in the classroom or are there schools out there looking for teachers like me?
